Jessica MacPhee
BA, BSW, RSW
Jessica has been a registered social worker in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers for 23 years. Having worked primarily in the field of child welfare, Jessica has helped clients navigate complex family situations to help reduce the impact of stressors in their lives. More recently in her career, Jessica has been employed in the field of addiction and mental health where she works with clients providing a non-judgmental space to help reduce the challenges getting in the way of living the life they want. Jessica is trained to provide interventions involving a variety of modalities including, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT Skills) and Polyvagal Theory.
In addition, Jessica is a 200-hour trained Yoga teacher who facilitates classes in the community. She has received specific training in methods to help balance the nervous system. These interventions can be helpful for people who find themselves experiencing chronic states of dysregulation and intense emotional responses. For clients interested, these types of somatic interventions can be used as facilitating aids during sessions.
Jessica can provide support to clients over the age of 18 experiencing emotional intensity/regulation difficulties, navigating life transitions and situational crises as well as anxiety, depression, and addiction issues. With special request, Jessica's sidekick, and co-counsellor "Nova" (a cavalier king charles spaniel) can join your session.
